This has been the worst time tasting here ever. Normally they are reallly reallly good ! So today I went in and purchased a 3 combo and I halved the rice and chow mein.. I got home and put it up... Couple hours later i go to eat and the chow mein has the worst smell and it tastes horrible it was like it was old or something idk but im pissed off !

3.5-ish. But since my boy loves Jasmine, I'll round up. I seriously lol'd when I read the review from James that said they give you 5 lbs of food. They really do! I tried their chow fun. Very good. Their chow mein is plain. Nothing fancy, but had a nice flavor for being just- yellow. I had the Black Bean Pork. It tasted very similar to Filipino pork adobo to me. I didn't pick up on the Black Bean flavor at all. The winner of the night was the Buddah Delight. (Hey, that rhymed!!). The veggies were extremely fresh and not overcooked. They had just the perfect amount of sauce and flavoring. Is this the best Chinese fast food I have ever eaten? No. But it's pretty tasty and the portions are INSANE! I had enough for 2 additional meals. Oddly enough, I think it tasted better the 3rd day. P.S. I was kinda disappointed that Jasmine doesn't give fortune cookies. That's my favorite part of having Chinese food. But I understand this may be due to operational cost considerations.

The deep fried fish at this place is on point. Not a big fan of the chicken wings, deep fried spareribs and some other stuff that they have, but you cant go wrong with some fried rice, veggies and deep fried fish.

I'm usually a huge hater when it comes to Chinese "fast food" (see: my total disregard and massive dislike of anything Panda Express related), but Jasmine is decent as far as such establishments go. Boyfriend and I were looking to add something to our plain dinner of rice, so we decided -- after we realized that Guadalajara was CLOSED on Christmas Eve, SO SAD -- that we would pick up an entrée item or two at Jasmine instead. We grabbed the orange chicken and the curry chicken. The curry chicken has hints of coconut that even my mother approved of. There is a slight spice kick, but nothing overwhelming that would set the mouth on fire. The orange chicken was your standard orange chicken. My old manager used to buy us lunch from Jasmine occasionally when he knew he would be swinging over to visit his plastics supplier in the area. I've had their sweet and sour pork and their lemon chicken as well. Their food isn't anything spectacular, but it's decent for the price and about on par with the kind of quality you would expect from a steam table take-out place like this.

If i could give no stars i would!! So disapointed, but not surprised. I hve heard that thy have been shut down due to inspectors showing up and them not passing the inspection. I have had some friends that have gotten food poison due to jasmines. But yet my husband and i kept going. But today was the last! As we got home and opened the bag a cockroach crawled out!!! R u kidding me!!! Disgusting!!! I never cared for their plain tasteless food anyways. Never again!!!

I haven't been to Jasmine for over five years & back then, I thought the food was very good. I stopped by there yesterday & ordered the small family meal. The chow mein & fried rice was pretty boring, the cashew chicken was something they threw together with some cashews & the egg rolls was a little greasy. The only good thing was the BBQ pork. I guess I should have stuck with the good memories.

I give this place a 3.5 score. Food is pretty good with good big portions for its price. If you only have $5 in your pocket, starving and want to know where to go get food, this is the spot for you. I wouldnt say its the best, but it definitely beats Panda Express.

I LOVE this place. Not only the food they cook is yummy for my tummy, serves it with handful amount of food to their customers, friendly stuff and a nice cook. Been coming in here and eat for almost 15 years now :) and will continue to come and eat here.

I really have fond memories of living in San Leandro. First real apartment. I say real because prior to moving there I was staying with a friend from High school on 3rd and Newcomb in HP San Fran. One night, I had just gotten off duty (Marines). I was so tired that the only thing I'd taken off was my boots and closed the door to my room. When I laid down it felt like a baby snug in his mama's arms. Then Crash!!!!! I jumped up, grabbed my Gat and got in a prone position on the floor. I thought it was a home invasion because the folks upstairs had one. I was ready to send rounds down range! Then I hear San Francisco Police Department. I yelled out "I'm a US Marine, and I'm armed! I hear a cop at my bedroom door 'officer Stanley, stand down Marine. "Copy that, I'm on the floor" Long story short, the raid was supposed to be upstairs. Neighbor was wanted in two homicides. Needless to say, I got the fkk out the next day. The city compensated me for the smoke damage to my furniture. OK. So what does this have to do with Jasmine? My first real apartment. Feb 17, 1995. 14744 Washington Ave APT 126. $775 a month 2 bed, 2 bath at 1800 SQFT. I'd taken a job as a security officer on the grave shift because being a corporal in the Corps, even as a combat vet with a purple heart, only brought in $1200 a month. SO Jasmine was my go to spot 2 nights a week to lug dinner for work. Often, I went there in my cammies (woodland fatigues) and the owner (I think she was the owner) would say "hello army" To which I'd smile and correct. No no no no no no no! Marine! Soon she got it right and began calling me by my last name. I would often greet her in canton, "ney ho lang luoy" and when she was not around, surprisingly the ladies greeted me "ne ho lang jai" They even knew my order "B" Chow mein, friend rice (split) beef Brocolli, lemon chicken, and a side of pot stickers/bbq pork. When I came in uniform, the sides were free. That was 1995-2000. After 2000 it was about twice a month after church given I moved to Concord. Fast forward to 7/8/14. Hopped in White Fury ( the Escalade). Should I take 242 to 24 to 980 to 880, or 242 to 680 to 580 to 238? Wait! 680 has a carpool lane, and White Fury is a Flex. BAM! I'm out. Had not been to Jasmine since 09 when I was a regular at Faith Fellowship. I get there and stick my head in to best burger to take a peak. Yep, still dirty and grungy, but they make some good burgers man. Step in the Jazz and see a familiar face she said "lang jai, long time" "No more Church?" Tears swelled in my eyes. There is so much that has happened in my life since moving to and from San Leandro. One would think that a simple take out place did not, and does not play a part. But if you could see inside my heart from walking life's dusty road, you will overstand how this could be. Jasmine gets 5 stars based on that alone.

Good Chinese food for a low price. They really pack your plates so your getting more for your money. Love potstickers ? Grab some from them!!

  • Erika G.

Get the chicken drumetts! Fat, meaty, crispy yummies!! Chow fun, Hunan Pork and Steamed rice is the way to go!! Don't bother with chow mein - it needs more flavor. We usually get 3 item combo - ENORMOUS portions that can easily feel 4 people! Super nice ladies and they are fast! They do take credit cards. There are a few tables but its single seats. Best little cheap fast food Chinese to-go place around!

    (4)
  • Eva S.

The chow mien was bland and the Sesame Chicken was quite soggy. They gave me a big serving but the quality is not as good. The servers were a little rude too. Never going back there again!!!

    (1)
  • Zan G.

without a doubt, the service is great here...i am amazed that they dont put so much MSG!!(this means that they still do coz i felt a lil bit of kick when i tried heir orange chicken before.. )but stilll - its cool.. they give big portions too and the cost of a combo meal is cheaper compared to its competitors. Their black bean/pepper spareribs is soo good. the flavor sticks to the meat and thats normally how id prefer it.. the chowmein is a bit blunt and oily.. the only time ive seen the noodle not oily is when they about to close.. (ha! i wonder why?-sarcastic tone)l.. but im still gonna continue to come back here... i have not dined in here yet coz i usually get to go's.. ive never had to wait that long tho coz if there were lines, they usually move pretty quickly. if u decide to dine in, ive seen like 3 tables inside that can seat 2 to 3 peeps per table..

I love their chow main because it doesn't have bean sprouts!! All of the dishes I ordered were sooooo good!!

  • Louis E.

Great place for fast Chinese food. Not expensive and get great portions of food too. If your feeling under the weather get some Hot n Sour soup!!

  • Justin C.

My first Jasmine experience was a few years ago when my buddy insisted that this was the best Chinese food to-go. No if's, and's, or but's about it. "This place is the bee knees." I agreed with him at the time because I was a starving college student, and the portions are huge, I am talking massive; at least twice the size of what Panda Express has to offer. However, my opinion of this place is a little different now. It's definitely a tasty little spot but it's by no means the best. The staff have always been friendly and but everything is greasy, salty, and very unhealthy. Your wallet will leave only slightly lighter but your belly a whole lot fuller. Great for high school, and college kids looking for a place to get the most bang for their buck.

    (3)
  • S V.

This little hole in the wall definitely has one of the best Chinese food to go in San Leandro. Their food tastes fresh, and they give you a lot of food so you definitely get the bang for your buck. My husband and I usually get 2, 3 item combination meals for $13. Definitely recommend this place.

    (5)
  • James G.

the reason for 5 stars is because for Chinese FAST food, its the BEST!!!!!!!!!! is the best Chinese food you will ever have? No. But for FAST FOOD, yes!!! you are in and out in less than 5 minutes !!!!! You pay less than $5 !!!!!!!!!! and they give you 5lbs of food !!!!!!!!!! and in 15 years, they have NOT changed !!!!!!!! once you have Jasmines, you will NEVER go back to Panda Express.

    (5)
  • Justin M.

Forget about Panda Express, EAT AT JASMINE! There is no other place where you can get decent fast Chinese food for under $5. I usually get their 2 item plate. A choice of chow mein or fried rice and one choice of what they have on their hot table. I can order up my food and be out the door in probably less than 2 minutes. Portions are generous and I can barely finish what they serve. Best bang for the buck!

    (4)
  • HonestOpino N.

These ladies arent cheap! And I dont mean that they are expensive, I mean they will fill that box of yours like no other! Food is good too! great price

  • Tung T.

What!!! Anything lower then 3 stars is ridiculous! This place is legit...come on guys...it does say Jasmine Chinese FOOD TO GO. You know what you are getting when you enter these places but Jasmine has got to be the most authentic Chinese Fast Food joints I've been to. Not to mention, yummy! Do you see any fake orange chicken? general tso chicken? sesame chicken? NO NO and NO. Yea they do have a Lemon Chicken but even that have legit flavors like LEMON as oppose to Orange Chicken where there is not even a hint of orange in it. But back to giving this place some props. There food is always on hit and the consistency is what I admire the most. You know its good when you go there during lunch time and the line is outside the door but you still manage to get your food in under 5 minutes. Talk about fast service. The second best thing about this place is how cheap it is. 5 dollars get you either chicken fried rice or chow mein. As a matter of fact you can even go half and half! But the best thing is the beef chow fun that you can get during lunchtime as they don't offer that as it gets late in the day. Along with that you get one entree. They stuff their boxes, and when i say stuff...i mean chow mein coming out of the edges trying to escape my belly! Top 5 things there according to Tung: 1. BBQ Pork 2. Hunan Chicken 3. Black Bean Sauce Ribs 4. Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken Drummettes 5. Beef and Broccoli 2 items used to be 3.50 but hey even with that extra 1.50 i'm still going there for lunch and having enough leftovers for dinner!

    (4)
  • Rachelle S.

This place fills you up and leaves you with plenty of leftovers for the next day! You get a whole lotta food here for under $5.00! They offer many different combinations of items. They have a few tables inside this small restaurant, but I think many people, including myself get the items to-go. Fast, friendly and affordable.

    (4)
  • Hunny E.

I'd give NO STARS if I could! Seriously, it should be illegal to sell such horrible "food". The Spring Rolls are HUGE, GREASY, and filled with some kind of "meat". The chicken rice and chow Mein was dry, flavorless and had a funny feel and smell. I spent a little over $5 at this place today and felt robbed. I threw the entire plate out in the parking lot garbage can. I can't believe this place is still open for business!

    (1)
  • Rob F.

I've been coming to this place since I was in high school, however, I'm really disappointed with the way they are cutting down on portions and how stingy they are with small items such as sweet & sour sauce...If I order twelve count em (12) egg rolls the last thing I want is only (3) sweet & sour sauces. Even when I asked for more they cringe at the thought of giving more and put only (3) more in the bag. Small things like this will drive a customer like me away. It's okay to cut costs, but don't force a person to have a bad experience with the food they've paid for by being skimpy in those areas.

    (2)
  • Noy L.

Food was alright I've had way better. But it's convenient. The lady kind of had a little additiude to me asking a question and thought I wasn't going to pay or buy. Not a good start!

  • Francisco F.

I came here and barely had one bite and I had to drive all the way back home to the bathroom. It was like hot lava and acid..... this place is gross....

    (1)
  • Norma C.

Yup, definately 3 stars. Will do in a pinch but not exceptional.Pot stickers were yummy, chow mein was way plain (that disappointed me). I got cashew chicken, greasy, dry, over cooked. Next time other choices. p.s. since when don't you get fortune cookie with meal?!!!

    (2)
  • Constance D.

I have been here a few times and I have not been disappointed yet. The portion sizes are pretty large, at least two meals if your not a body builder! Their food is always fresh and the place smells delicious when you walk inside. The potstickers, which makes or breaks my chinese food experiences, are the size of my fist (I have small hands lol) and super tasty. They have chicken, beef and veggie dishes and for around five dollars for two items plus rice/noodle or both, you can't go wrong!!

    (4)
  • M T.

Great food! Have been going there for years and will continue as long as they are there. HUGE portions. Buy for two and feeds a family of 6+. Best i've ever had and you can check my reviews on Chinese food. : ) Would recommend. Will take photos and upload them.

    (5)
  • Ashley S.

Prices are okay, but this is the kind of place you get what you pay for. Chow mein is very dry and flavorless. Have given this place a few chances, I won't be going back.

My first encounter with Jasmine Chinese take out and their chicken chow mein was at a picnic at Lake Chabot this summer. Cheap food and fast service at this steam table Chinese food to go joint. $4.09 for large chicken chow mein - about 1 lb 10 oz. I weighed it when I got home. :) They really try to stuff as much as possible into the take out boxes. On a Saturday at 10:30 am, we ordered 3 large items - chicken chow mein, beef chow fun and sweet and sour pork for about $15.50. I tried a sample of the Hunan chicken. The sample was lukewarm and overcooked, but it should have been hot and tender since technically it was sitting around on the steam table for less than one hour as they opened at 10 am...I think the sweet and sour pork was also made the night before because it was lukewarm and tough as well. (We ordered it without sampling it first.) I eat leftovers quite often (last night's dinner for workday lunch), but I don't want to pay for leftovers from a takeout place...When does the freshly made food come out? We came primarily for the chow mein. The chicken chow mein is made out of fat chow mein noodles...tastes good with a little extra soy sauce. :) I'll go a little out of the way for some Chinese take out from here. :) Plenty of parking and they accept credit card for orders over $3.

3.5 My favorite fast food greasy spoon chinese place. Don't come here if you want healthy Chinese food (heh). Come here because you want bang for your buck chinese food and dont want to go to panda. Portions are still as generous and a real bargain as I remember. I usually opt for either the 2 Item (I entry and 1 side) ~ 5 dollars or the 3 Item ( 2 entries and 1 side) ~ 6 dollars. Staff here is usually friendly, they normally stuff your container as much as they can.

    (4)
  • Suzanne C.

If you want cheap and fast "Chinese" food this is the place to go. It's a steam table place similar to Panda Express but better because they have chow fun, chicken wings, BBQ pork and panda doesn't.

  • Dave C.

I have been coming to Jasmine for close to 15 years now....great food at a great price....I get the two item and it will last me two meals..

I won't name names, but I've been to MANY chinese quick-to-go places, and Jasmine's is the only place where I've found tasty food at a great price for the portions. The staff has been very friendly to me since Day 1, the portions are HUGE, and I don't even notice the hit to my pocketbook. Their Hunan Chicken is sweet and spicy, just like I love it, and their chow mein is excellent. Make a couple trips there, and they are sure to greet you the moment you cross the threshold. Wonderful people, large and tasty portions, and light on the cost. I won't go to another Chinese restaurant anymore. I've tried a couple different places since my first trip to Jasmine's and regretted it.

Tasty? O.K. Typical. But hasn't anyone noticed that those little drummettes that are all fried up and crispy are a bit to big to be drumettes from a chicken wing, and a bit too small to be a drumstick? Hmmm?

Let me tell you a thing or to about this spot food as always fresh they are super busy all the time and they hook you up with lots of food. and super cheap.....

Why do I always feel that the workers at this type of place are tryin to pull a fast one on me... I order, ANDTHEN? AND THEN? Well, I validly feel that way. This was my second time going here, cuz their potstickers are pretty good! So i went here to pick up a steam table chinese dinner for me and my girl. I wasn't expecting much, just chinese fast food, but i wanted some and some of their potstickers. So, I go in, make my order of food for me n my girl, and, order one (1) order of potstickers. I see the shifty lady placing 3 potstickers in a container, I ask, "is there only 3 per order?" She says yes, 3 per order, so, mind you my girl is being a dear and is back home cleaning my bathroom! how nice, so I, being the genorous, kind hearted man that I am decide to get an extra order of potstickers, so i order another order, expecting 6... I pay no mind and go pay my bill. I get home, we open each meal, meh, not very good, pretty low on the scale of steam table chinese, but oh, wait, i have some of their great potstickers!!! We open that bag, each order now only has 2 potstickers in them, she only gave me one extra potsticker. REALLY? I spend $18 on steam table chinese, and your gonna gyp me on potstickers? I ordered 2x3 potstickers, and you gonna do that, so you were trying to get over on me with potstickers The jig is up Jasmine!

Went to Jasmine for lunch today . On the positive side good size portions ,fairly inexpensive. Negative not to much Chicken in their Chicken Chow Mein. Good place in a pinch.

I've been coming here since around '95, after church on Sundays or after school when I was at Arroyo for a semester junior year (boo, wack school). This place is a winner in my book. Always reliable, economical, and of course, delicious. You can't knock cheap, fast, tasty, and the best sized portions I've seen in any city I've been to east and west coast. Back in the day you could get a ridiculously huge styro cup of any soda of your choice for 99 cents but I guess they wisened up since then. Either way, this place is a staple in my greasy spoon quick fix. Best: POT STICKERS!!! best pot stickers I've tasted anywhere. Faves: chicken wings, cashew chicken, hunan pork, chow mein. Beware: the veggies if left in the tray too long get soggy besides that, everything at this place is great. To the stuck up reviewers: C'mon it's a TO-GO place, not a 4 star Chinese Banquet, get over yourself with all your crazy reviews.

Wow, that was one of crappiest Chinese food I've had in a very long time. I know sometimes we complain about lack of meat in their meat entrees but please, where are the veggies!? Chicken fried rice and chowmein were so plain and had no veggies at all. What gives? I know you pay what you get for but this was just redic! Sorry Jasmin, you lost a customer here. you used to be good, but now you are just getting stingy and bad.

I grew up in San Leandro and my granmother always took us here. The BBQ pork is the best in the world!!! Must get there early before they sell out! Also love the sweet and sour pork its not too sweet or sour its perfect. Im a fan of the chow mein because I love the fat noodles but I think most people like the rice.

sweet & sour pork, lemon chicken, pork chow mein, orange chicken, chicken chow fun and fried rice. these are my go to jasmine dishes of choice. i always order from jasmines because they have great food at a great price. for a little over $5 you get about 3 pounds of food, if you're REALLY hungry this is the place to go. this has got to be one of the best fast food chinese places i have ever had.

I'm not a huge fan of Chinese fast food, but I am a fan of Jasmine. I come here once in a while when I'm craving super large portions for super cheap. Last time I went in, I got a cashew chicken, chow mein and pot stickers and it was around $6 and was enough food for three meals. Everything here tastes great too, a bit greasy and high in MSG, but I only have one life to live, so who cares. If it comes down to a fast food burger joint, or enough food to feed a small army for the same price, believe I'm going to Jasmine.

  • Jen F.

I find you can't really screw up in this pre-made takeout genre of Chinese food, but I think Jasmine's 1) Fried chicken 2) Chow fun [seems to be lunch only, with heatlamp leftovers thru early dinner] keep them a bit above the rest. deliciously greasy [just take home some chicken legs in a paper bag for visual proof]. I think they might sprinkle in crack, it tastes so good.

It's basically the same hole in the wall chinese take out place. If you get there late in the day all the good things for instance the bbq pork, is all gone and what is there is not looking very good. However, if you arrive late afternoon, you can usually get some good tasting hot food. Like I said it is take out so be prepared to order and go, theres really no place to sit.

This place use to be good to me. We use to come here often with my mom and sisters. I think I started not liking this place because they changed their chow mein and now use fatter noodles which I hate and If you have read my other reviews about chinese food you'd know how I detest fat chow mein noodles lol. Anyway their sides are still good though. The Hunan chicken is good I also like their BBQ Pork its hella good. The sweet and sour is great also. They use to have deep fried chicken but not sure if they still do and those were good also. Their food is good but I still go else were!

My family has been comiong here for years they all ove the chinese food from here, Lately I seem to have gotten quite bored of it. They really don't have much to choose from as in chicken. My husband loves it so everytime we do eat chinese we go to different places LOL. The BBQ pork is still really good as well as teh cashew chicken and one thing I love here are the small fried drumsticks mmmm those always are delish!

I remember this place being so much better when I was in highschool. Tried it again the other day and was not to impressed. You can get the same kind of food across the street at Beijing bowl, but it's not as greasy.

Jasmine's Chinese Fast Food is quite possibly the best Chinese fast food place I have ever been. It certainly wipes the floor with every single Panda Express in the world. The food is surprisingly good. I'm a huge fan of fried rice (and regular rice for that matter) and the fact they offers chicken fried rice is a huge bonus. I have yet to find any other Chinese fast food place that offers any type of meat in their fried rice. Jasmine's potstickers rank in the top 5 best I have ever had (I love postickers) which is amazing considering it's chinese fast food. They offer a pretty wide selection of food from potstickers to orange chicken, to curry chicken, to hunan pork. Asides from the wonderful food, their prices are terrific. The fact you can get a 2 item lunch for under 4 dollars always puts a smile on my face. And they are always really, really generous with their food. They give you such big portions of everything you order, that you never feel cheated. But the thing that makes this place special is the service. The people who work there are really nice. They always greet you with a smile. They are always kind to you. And whenever the place gets really busy, the people who work there really know how to move in order to make the wait as minimal as possible. The only really downside to Jasmine's is it is a really small place. I think they have 8 or so small tables, so you usually have to grab your food and go. But I suppose that's the point of Chinese Fast Food anyway.

All this place has going for them is the volume of food they give you. Other than that the quality an taste of the food is sub par mediocre. It's cheap...but I wouldn't come back

Yummy! Portions are big, prices are cheap, food is chinese. :)

After blowing the eating out budget last week for the boys, had the hankering for cheap Chinese food. I remember this place being decent so stopped by for some grub. The steam table wasn't looking good around 6:00 pm but the pot stickers were calling my name. Left with 6 pot stickers and i must say, they were quite tasty. Moist filling and the skin was just right not to chewy. I just read the review on the spring rolls that they are lumpias. Must check that out next time.

The calorie per dollar ratio of this place is amazing. Huge portions for very low prices. The thing that blows my mind though is they'll give you 5lbs of food for under $5 but they'll charge you full price for a refill on a soda. The food itself is standard steam table fare. Nothing extraordinary, but totally doable. A little on the greasy side and they're kind of heavy handed with the salt and MSG. I found my meal there totally satisfactory, but I haven't gone back. There are just better options to be found.

I'm not gonna lie this place is pretty good. But often times it isn't very fresh and you can kinda taste when it's been sitting there for a while. i was told once, when jasmines shut down for a while that the place was busted because the food was being made with cats. Rumors are fun to see how gullible people are, am i right? Anyway, Jasmines gives you gargantuan portions so i've never really had a complaint herre.

Have come back twice since last review. Ordered Chicken Chow Mein- Cashew Chicken- Beef Brocolli- Pot Stickers-Lemon Chicken-and others. The food was tasty, Pot Stickers huge, and portions generous. I believe the 3 item meal was only $6.50 and had 3 meals from the leftovers. The Beef Brocolli could have had a little more beef but arrived late and they were closing soon. The ladies working there are friendly and service speedy. A real bargain for the price.

Chinese fast food. This place literally piles your to go box with more than the normal serving. Stick to the chow mein-The fried rice has no flavor. Their uniqueness lies in their ocassional special ingredient...Every now and then a dead fly can be found in the hunan chicken. Chuck it in a sandwich bag and take it back...You'll get a free meal.

For a Chinese fast food place, it doesn't get any better than Jasmine. This place first popped up as one of the first "point-point" chinese spots in SL back in the early 90's. For chinese fast food, the food is tasty and cheap given in generous portions. For a quick lunch or an inexpensive, filling dinner, you get a lot of bang for your buck here. The spots is pretty small so it's probably best to take it to go. Favorites: fried drummettes, dried fried ribs, curry chicken.

just went to the one in hayward/union city they have a grand opening and it all pretty much tastes the same. bad meat quality, everything is sweet and not that good. go to dragon house instead its just a few miles away.

The food was really good. We had pot stickers (one of the best I've ever had), cashew chicken, sweet & sour pork & chow mein. The egg rolls were way to peppery. If I'm near there I'll eat there again, but I wont go out of my way to get it.

  • Marcess O.

Ew. That's really all I have to say about everything. Seriously, with so many other Chinese restaurants that make food a-hella quick (and a little more tailored to what you actually want), why would I go to here? I can get better to-go Chinese for about the same distance from my house going the other direction. Plus everyone drives like a moron in this parking lot.

I've been going to this place for a while. It's out of my way, but worth the trip for me. Especially while I was in college. The portions that they give you is good enough for 2 people. Good value for what you get. Some of the food though is really sweet which i don't like, but overall it's good food. They just opened a new location in Union City, between Food Max, and Home Depot, next to Subway, which is a lot closer for us.

Jasmines is a great place that has awesome egg rolls and good food. They are better than average and the only real problem with their place is that the hours are short, (they close pretty early) and toward the end of the day they are out of a lot of stuff. The quality of the food of Jasmines has gone down since initially writing this review. Now I would probably on go there for a later lunch and mostly just to get the egg rolls.

a zillion years ago in emeryville just under the powell st overpass... was this place we called 'henry fungs bavarian hofbrau'... great chef...made prime rib with rice and gravy for like 6bucks... all nighters pulled at wusterhall then hit this place. now fast forward to jasmines... look in back at the taller cook...hey same chef. been goin here since it opened. still the best steam table food ever. beef brisket chowfun...black bean spareribs...all good. two items still less than 5bucks.

I checked out the reviews b4 I headed over for lunch today w/ a coworker...I have to say that I think for the price this place is GREAT! The fried rice and noodles weren't the most flavorful I've ever had, but I had the BBQ pork (Really good, no burnt pieces), pot stickers (some of the best I've had), egg roll (also VERY good). I spent $10, got my fill for lunch and it will feed my fiance for dinner. Two meals for $10 is pretty good in my book. It's GREAT for what it is...cheap, FAST Chinese food for lunch and early dinner.

  • Charlene R.

The food's pretty good. You get super huge portions for super cheap. The only thing I don't like is the ladies behind the counter be rushing you hella much. Their menu is a bit hard to understand. As long as you know that rice/noodles counts as one item on the menu, you should be good.

  • Dude M.

I'm going to start by clearing something up. The rumor about Jasmine being closed down by food inspectors because they were serving "cat" was f***ing retarded, and you have to be pretty f***ing retarded to believe it. 'Nuff said. Now for the review. Jasmines' serves tasty food for a very decent price. You can't go wrong with over a pound of food for $6. Before the temporary closing they served even tastier meats, but since then they've changed suppliers or something. ...and no, it wasn't because they were serving domesticated animals, dumbasses.

Best potstickers I've ever had in my life! They're huge, too. Moist, flavorful and cheap!

Fast chinese food Ready to go any time :) for about 5daller you about 3 pounds of chinese food , Great value, good food, Fast services, . My fave dish there is the 3 item combo.(* there is enought food for 2 per here ) .. Chicken fry rice , with Hunan Pork, and curry or mushroom chicken, this place is always buzy, you all way get fresh food coming out, so you don't get food that sits there like most Chinese fast food place . In San Leandro, Jasmine is my #1 for Chinese Fast Food .. !! love it .. OH yeah the Pot sticker ROcks there !!!!!

I have been coming here for many years. Have gotten to know the owners. I moved to Vegas came up for an visit and had a craving. Went in and the first thing I was asked where I have been. So now every time I come for a visit I stop in and get my "fix". Enough food for 2 days. Love the fried rice, lemon chicken

if your in a rush and need some "food" then go ahead, i wish you luck..they're more of a fast food chinese spot.....oh, and lets not mention that they've been closed down numerous times by food inspectors...

Damn, I have so many fond memories of coming here as a kid. This was always the restaurant that we would go to when we wanted to have something really special... coming here was a rarity and I always savored it. Nowadays, it's pretty common for me to come here, usually after a tough day in general. The chicken is pretty tasty, and the chow mein is absolutely delicious... actually, one thing I've noticed is that the chow mein has gotten better over the past few years. Hats off, guys! The price is great, the portions are huge, and it's nice, straight-up, no-frills. I've been a customer here since the late 90s and that'll stay for a while... only complaint is that the beef and broccoli could have more beef.

  • Ruben R.

Definitely the best Chinese food I have ever had. "Jasmine" has been the go-to place in my family for more than 10 years, and every other place we have tried has been mediocre at best. My usual order has become the Beef and Broccoli, Chow Mein, and the Hunan Chicken; and it has never failed me once. The food may be superb and delicious, but I wouldn't suggest eating here as there are only about two or three tables in total and the workers face straight in the direction from where you eat. Nevertheless, this is a great restaurant, and whenever I visit the Bay Area again, I will definitely swing by this place.

What can I say that hasn't already been said. I will make this review a different one then usual. I will list the things said and agree. 1. Huge Portions 2. Awesome Potstickers 3. Friendly people 4. Chow mein and rice had zero flavor. As Forrest Gump says, "That's all I have to say about that"

    (3)
  • Farhad O.

It's kinda like Panda Express but more authentic, foods great, huge portions. The 3 item is enough food for 2 adults. Try the cashew chicken, it's really good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
